Letter From the Director,
It is with great pleasure and a sense of accomplishment that I share with you the Clinical Skills & Simulation Center (CSSC) website.
This website provides a glimpse into the many facets of CSSC by highlighting our accomplishments, strengths, and advancements in training, education, and research. The CSSC's plan for the future is built on the shoulders of my esteemed predecessor - "giant" in the history of Clinical Skills & Simulation- "Dr. Sami Abdulaziz Al-Nassar".
Since I became the Director in 2017, I have never been busier nor felt more energized in focusing my attention into building a strong training center, a department well positioned to the advances of the new millennium.
Over the past three years, we have made significant strides in the basic Science research arena. The research component is consonant with our vision for the training of healthcare providers in the 21st century. The departmental mission is to produce The practitioners who are as comfortable in the basic science lab as they are in real situations.
In addition to advances in clinical training and research, a primary focus of our Department remains to educate the future generation of academic clinical leaders. Through the use of simulation and cutting edge technology, we are transforming the way we train our medical students, residents, and fellows. Our state of the art Clinical Skills & Simulation Center allows our students, residents, and fellows to practice and become proficient in the basic skills and the cognitive knowledge required to perform prior to entering the clinical areas.
In 2012, our center received the ACS Level 1 Comprehensive Education Institute designation, the first accredited center in the Middle East.
As we continue to meet the challenges of the future, I look forward to continued excellence in clinical Simulation research and education over the coming years.
