Understand the purpose and function of each of the following within the chest drainage system: the suction control dial and window, the one-way valve chamber with air leak meter, the fluid collection chamber, the negative pressure indicator

Understand how to maintain a chest drainage system safely

State potential risks for caring for a patient with a chest tube

Apply the principles of safe care through proper monitoring and care of the patient with a chest tube

How to insert a chest tube with hands-on practice.
